Dometic refirgerator needs to be level to work?

I have heard this but can't seem to find an answer as to why. I looked through all the manuals that came with the my new TT. I see it says in the installation manual that the fridge needs to be mounted on a level platform.

But what is the reason it needs to be perfectly level to work? Or should I ask...what is the theory that it needs to be level?

My trailer is parked right now, it's not level, close but not perfect, due to the grade of the ground it's a little low in the front. Fridge is working great on AC power.

Also, how can you expect it to be level when towing and running on propane?

If the wife doesn't complain, it's level enough.

When rolling/ bouncing down the road the absorption unit is most happy. In the old days they had to be more level than the new ones.

I totally agree with the wife not complaining.

But what I am asking is why the unit is supposed to be level to operate. I like to know how (and why) everything works.

The evaporative process on the 12v/LP fridges works best level. If you run it in an extremely unlevel situation, you can damage the coils. Running while on the road won't damage it, but if you're parked unlevel for a long period of time you can damage your fridge.

Great read, but nothing about why it needs to be perfectly level.

I use the doors, can I open them and have them stay? Can the toilet be opened and stay? Close enough! Normally with in 1/2 a bubble on the level.
