Don’t forget the tape!

Took a short trip to Myrtle Beach State Park. Really nice park!
120 miles from home, bam, passenger side mirror fell off. I had noticed it was vibrating more than usual. Hanging by the wires. Got pulled off. All 4 wood screws stripped out. No way to screw back on and this thing is heavy. Considered unplugging the harness but decided to tape it up. Worked great all the way back home. Zip Rite construction tape, best you can buy. Holds a ton. Can hardly get your fingers off of it. Figure the previous leak in this mirror was the culprit. Screws were only holding in the fiberglass skin. I removed the 4 wood screws and replaced with stainless through bolts with metal back plates and lock nuts on top of regular nuts. This was all below the dash.

Agreed a good tape has saved me more than once on the road.
