Don't do it alone.

I just finished winterizing our 377 and I found out one big thing. I should have waited till the DW was home to help with it. Kinda tough to run around turning on certain faucets and back out to check on the level on antifreeze in the bottle!

I found pouring the antifreeze into a five gallon bucket is much easier than sucking from a gallon jug.

Our pump is smack dab in the middle of the camper, so I can see when it's running low. We do have the outside shower, but I do that last and make sure that there's enough in the jug, and by that point since most of the lines are already filled, it doesn't take a whole lot.

After a few tries, I know that starting with the Kitchen Cold takes me to just about one gallon gone. Then I can swap to Jug #2 and do the other permutations. I'm left with just enough to pour in p-Traps.

But it did take a while to get the timing down.

The pump is just slightly aft of center. The jug of antifreeze is only visible from the kitchen sink, the longest run. Change bottles after that. Top up or swap bottles after each additional faucet.

Then make sure the traps are properly protected.

15 mins total time spent after the FW tank stops draining.

After reading posts like these it makes me doubly glad I live in Florida. I feel for you guys having to go through this every year.

I spent 2 hours winterizing my rig this morning. I am very happy to live in Minnesota where we don't have to evacuate the state when hurricanes occur.

But we are planning a visit to your state this February with our RV to visit all the princesses!

X2, It only takes me 30 minutes to winterize, and after six months of camping in beautiful weather with very low humidity and not raining much during the summer I have had enough. I agree Florida is not the place for me, I will take snow and the cold of winter over hurricanes, salt water with who knows whats in it, heat and humidity.

I agree that having to evacuate for Irma did suck, but was first time in 20 years. I like those odds over knowing I will have to shovel snow every year. If everyone liked the same things it would be really crowded down here. 😁

Hope you have a good trip down and say hi to Mickey for me.

I never had a problem letting one jug run dry before switching to the other. Just get some air bubbles in the lines.

Like the five gallon pail suggestion but one at a time is ok. Just wish the small sheet panels they install to 'hide' the water heater and pump weren't so large.

I've been RVing for 20 years but usually have help. BUT my winterization takes over 1/2 hour due to the fact that I install the antifreeze and also remove the RV batteries, Remove the batteries in all the remote controls, Putting out the mouse pellets, Putting all of the towels and linens up high so if one of the *&%ing rodents does get into the rig then they don't chew up my bedding, Removing all the liquids (dish soap, hand soap, toilet treatment).

Kahoneys, dryer sheets will keep the mice away & the unit will smell fresh when opening up next spring. Put them in each cabinet, under each mattress, under each cushion, and in each drawer.
