That is a question that needs a little more information. Assuming that you are talking about (1) 220Ah 12Volt "True Deep Cycle" battery and (2) 220Ah 6Volt "True Deep Cycle" batteries in series, there should no difference. The 12VDC battery cells will be the same thickness as the 6VDC battery cells. BUT the size of the 12Volt battery will be close to putting 2 6Volt batteries side by side. 220Ah is 220Ah (of course you can only use 110Ah of the 220Ah - the 50% rule)

So when you want to compare you need to compare a simuilar rated 12Volt battery to a pair of simuilar rated 6Volt batteries.

BUT, most 12VDC batteries are a lower Ah rating, so 2 6's would be better if an equal 12Volt one of equal Ah could not be located.

You can find a little more information on batteries by going to the "RVing with SOLAR", Social Group under Community (above) or clink on the above link. Scroll down to thesecond page for batteries. Scroll down to the second page of posts.

Here is a little more information to give you a little better idea.
I have taken a 12Volt Trojan battery vs the 6 Volt Trojan. Pretty much size and price are the two items. If you have the space and a few more dollars go with the 12Volt Trojan battery. The specs are close to the same. Properly maintained, the life expectancy should be very close.

When my T-145's pass on, I will probably go with (2) 12Volt Trojans....

If you have a few x2 extra dollars take a look at this Trojan battery DC-500ML

Here is the Trojan battery list if you are interested.

I just used ATBATT's website for pricing... never used them.
