Drain pan for splendid evening washer/dryer

Is a drain pan really necessary for the the splendid evening vented combo? Thanks, rick

As long as you can be sure it will never leak NO, but why take the chance. Also to winterize properly your supposed to open the pump trap and you will always get some water out of there.

They want close to a hundred dollars for the pan and installation. Is this one of the white plastic type you buy at last Wes or Home Depot? Thanks, rick

Similar, but the specific size for the washer. Also the front lip attaches after the washer is installed which makes it easier to install and remove in case it needs service IIRC it is also a little heavier plastic than the ones at HD.
