drastic measures and your thoughts!

So I have the wax cardboard that covers the bottom of my X17Z that is mostly screwed to the frame of the underneath of the floor frame. What I have discovered is that this creates a cavity for mice. I have attempted to secure all of the areas using screws, foam, chalking, stainless steel wool and anything else to fill the open areas from being accessed. It is a bit funny because it is like playing wack-a-mole and I am losing. I can feel this cavity is full of bedding and nuts. I am thinking about removing all of the wax carboard all together, exposing the frame and painting the underside with a good waterproofing undercoat paint. Insulation value is not important to me as I don't camp in cold weather. Before I go all "nuts" on this is there any unintended consequence I am not thinking about that. Thank you.

Since you don't cold weather camp I can't see any negatives. In the early years rigs didn't have enclosed frames and I never heard of any major issues.

One benefit of removing it. Makes it much easier to fix anything under the trailer.
