Dry weight

New to forum. I have a Jayco feather 16 RK TT on the yellow sticker it states a dry weight of 4881, but when i took it to a scale the weight was 4440. Is it normal for the weight to be less then whats on the yellow sticker. Any information is appreciated. Than you in advance.

That seems very backwards. Usually the weight is totally empty, without propane or battery.

Welcome to the forum!

Does the 4440 include the tongue weight or is that just the weight on the trailer axles? If just the weight on the trailer axles then you need to add the tongue weight to the 4440 in order to get the loaded trailer weight. Tongue weight, although carried by the tow vehicle (or tongue jack) is still part of the loaded trailer weight.

Can you post a picture of the CAT scale slip or provide the steer/drive/trailer axle weights from the slip?

Our 2021 Pinnacle's dry weight is listed as it came out of the factory, including 4 full 40 gallon propane tanks.

Our 2021 145RB also lists the dry weight with propane tank and generator fuel, if applicable, out of the factory.

Add the tongue weight to it, right now it's mostly showing up on your tow vehicle weight.

4440/.9 = 4,930 lbs ... 4440/0.88 = 5,045 lbs

If the trailer was still connected to the TV, then it would explain the "missing weight." Assuming a brand new, unloaded trailer drops ~11-12% onto the hitch, then the "dry weight" would land somewhere near 5,000 lbs.

Trust the scale, not the label.

The tongue weight needs to be added to the 4440 trailer axle value to get the real loaded trailer weight. Right now the tongue weight is being carried by the drive axle and is part of the 3120 value. Here is a link to a sticky thread that details how to do a 3-pass weigh which will allow to you determine accurate weights:

That sounds very heavy for a 16’ trailer.

The yellow sticker on our trailer says that the dry weight is 4765 lbs. The tag also states the total dry weight includes a full tank of fresh water and 2 full bottles of propane. So if your trailer did not have water or full tanks of propane, then you will have a lower weight than what's listed on the yellow sticker.
