Duramax vs Freightliner

Hello, from Traverse City, MI. Wife and I are new to RVing and looking at purchasing 2008-10 Seneca MS. Looking for comments/reviews from owners on the Duramax and Kodiak Chassis. Concerns are no air ride, brakes and 19" wheels, but the $ is right! Should we hold out and consider the 2012 Freightliner/Cummins package with air and 22.5" wheels, more hp.
Any help is well appreciated...

Thanking you all in advance!
Mike

We loved our 08 SENECA. The only reason we traded for a FW is we are spending a lot more time in it than originally planned and wanted more room.

The DURAMAX/KODIAK had plenty of power and stopped well and rode extremely well. I added Koni shocks and adjusted the tire pressure according to Michelin's chart based on weight.

Thanks Grumpy, that's good to know. Where did you get service on vehicle? As GM dealers cant lift the unit.
Any other comments/review that I should consider on Seneca's?

Thanks again...

I had it done at a combo GMC/RV dealer. You need to search for a med duty Chev/GMC dealer. There are still some around that previously sold 4500/5500/6500 trucks. I know some guys use the truck stop service centers.

Do a search for the Super C RV Group on Yahoo to get info as well.

We have the 2012 CUmmings. Just love it. We had a very big classA Beaver SOld that anf found the Seneca is just as nice. We live in Colorado. there are a few small hills around here and we do not have any trouble with any of them.
