BBQ has made it easy and good. Charcoal is something we forgot about. Much better flavor. Now we need to find some more things to BBQ!

We like to cook and like the foods we take along; we very rarely eat out. Between the stove, microwave, and campfire embers we have a nice variety of cooking methods.
We usually travel 17-20 days at a time and are home enough to enjoy the grill there.

I have a gas grill at home my son and my wife cook I do nor. Now that I have retired this has changed. Charcoal is longer to get ready to cook and has much better taste. This summer I have to update my rv cooking equipment.
With the help from members I have mastered burgers , sausage , fish and pork chops. This has been fun cooking and sitting outside with the bay behind our trailer.

X2! Along with our fast hash browns...put a clump of about 6-8 ore Ida tater tots close together in a skillet on a few drops of oil, smash em down half way with a spatula & fry till golden brown on both sides! Yum.

Where we camp it is a long way to find a place to eat. I mostly cook outside (I like it.) I use a small gas BBQ grill or a Coleman stove converted to propane tanks. Both work great. During fire season charcoal cannot be used because you cannot turn it off. I do like the charcoal flavor better than gas grill.

This is my 'small' camping rig. Just a set of cooktops, grill and griddle.
It packs away in these cases.
I have modified it, for higher wind usage since the purchase.
I use wood and charcoal at home, but camping has presented too many fire bans for coals.

Of course, "shrimp on the barbie" (NO, not THAT Barbie!!! ) is another classic treat.
I just luvs my steaks and chicken and fish, but every now and then, some more exotic sea food makes a nice change of pace.

Grilled scallops are awesome! Make sure they're sea scallops and don't overcook them.

That sounds great. I'm sure that my kids would love those also.

It really depends on why we are going camping. If we are going camping with friends at a favorite local campground and will stay at the campsite most of the day, then we cook and eat there. If we are using our trailer as a mobile hotel room while we travel and go sightseeing all day, then we eat breakfast at the trailer, make sandwiches and bring them with in a cooler for lunch, then grab dinner at a local place before returning to the trailer for a relaxing campfire and bed.

Shrimp was fantastic. Local shrimp market at Fort Myers pine island koa. This gives camping a hole new adventure. Is lump coal better than regular charcoal?

I personally will use briquettes when grilling, but never for smoking.
