Not Repairable

TRC notified me that my 34750 unit was not repairable. Made in Houduras and not economical to return. They offered a discount on a 34850 new unit. Lightning caused a power surge destroying the Surge Protector and also my microwave.

I bought a Progressive PT-50C, I hear it is repairable.

Do buy one, keep an eye on Camping World specials. I bought a 50 amp portable for $200 back in the spring at CW in Mesa, AZ. The "regular" price in the flyer is $450. so you can get a deal.

I have the EMS-PT50C and I'm so paranoid about shore power issues that I have a second one still in the box as a spare. I have seen way too many RV's damaged by power issues after 5 years of full time RV living. My EMS-PT50C has been in continuous service for 4 1/2 years and the spare will be put in service when the primary one has to go back to Progressive for warranty service.

I purchased the portable 30A EMS system several months ago. Within a week weather events blew it up. Progressive Industries had me send it back (my expense) and about a week later it was returned. Several days ago I see it displaying a previous error code indicating that an Over power situation occurred and it shut itself down.

So it works and progressive industries stand behind their product.

and so it goes,,,,, TRC does not stand behind their product unless it is within the warranty period. It can not be repaired per my experience.
