Electrical fuse panel burned up

I have 2019 JFlight 29DBH we bought new. Was camping over weekend and lost power, no breaker was tripped and opened panel and saw burnt marks. Took cover off and wires burnt. Anyone else had any issues?

Sounds like a power surge at the camp ground. I'm sorry to hear about your problems, could be any number of things, I'm leaning towards the converter but it's going to take some tracing and diagnosis. You didn't mention if it's just the AC power that's not working or the 12 volt also.

It's kind of closing the barn door after the cows are out, but this is a prime reason for carrying a power management system such as Progressive, Hughes or Southwire.

Could have just been a loose wire in the 120V circuit that caused extra heat to the wiring. Every owner should check or have all the connections checked for tightness over time. They can come loose from hot/cold during use and from traveling. Once loose, they can cause a big problem.

Welcome Aboard!

Loose wires connections would be my first thought. There has been posts on the subject before. General findings, the wires were loose in the terminals.

Pending how burnt things are, any melted wires would need to be properly addressed. You can remove the panel from the wall and tighten the terminals, you do want clean wire connections. Make sure you fully disconnect the battery and shore power first.

If it is bad, you may need to replace some of the boards, which can be done, or you can replace the entire box.

Some pictures can help.

Good luck

Our Automatic Transfer Switch almost burnt up too. Turned out to be loose wires. Loose wires have high resistance, creates high heat.

X-2 Connections should be checked periodically, since there is a larger temp swing in an RV than in a house. Add the vibration from bouncing down the road and things loosen up.
