Electricl pull when battery cut off

Does anyone know the amp pulled on the battery when the battery disconnect is engaged and the battery connection is not on

Please post what RV you have for best answers. Generally the battery disconnect does not actually disconnect everything. The LP/CO monitor is hard wired to the battery. Some vehicles have power stabilizer jack systems, power steps and other stuff permanently connected. To really disable the battery for storage you need to add a battery switch at the battery. Knife, screw in or rotate types are cheap and easy to install. I like the one at Harbor Freight for $6.99.
I expect the reason these items are left operating is either safety or lawsuits.
Without a battery disconnect switch on the battery it will be dead in days at 2.4 amps per day.

As posted it will depend on your make/model. But I just happened to do a bunch of Amp measurements a couple of days ago.


My multimeter is no Fluke brand - so take the measurements as "directional". My draw was about 1A.

X2 need to know the model and year to really be able to help.

If you have say a Hummingbird, it maybe zero amps. If you have say a Northpoint it could be a couple amps maybe even more, as the leveling system and remote control devices always have power to them.

A simple multimeter with an amp clamp is a good friend to keep in the camper, to help diagnose issues. Don't need anything fancy, but it can diagnose a lot of issues.

Thanks to all. I have a 2017 Jayco Eagle HT 27.5 rtls 50 amp 5th wheel. I appreciate everyone's response. I measure .4 amps with the cutoff engaged and 1 amp with the cutoff not engaged.
