Emergency Roadside Service

So nothing is perfect. But I had a really bad experience with AAA this past weekend. My right front wheel bearing disintegrated while towing a U-Haul trailer. I was told no problem, I was covered. When we got home I had to pay a huge towing bill for the U-haul, which had I been told the first time it wasn't covered, the towing company would have taken the trailer to a local U-haul to drop it off as a one way and paid a few bucks extra. Called the club today and was told I'm supposed to call the national club. They said it should be handled locally. The national club doesn't play nice with the local clubs. So I have file a dispute which pretty much every has told me should be in my favor. Who knows?

All that said, I'm now seriously considering Coachnet as they cover towing of utility trailers as well as lot of other good benefits. But from what I hear, even if I'm a reasonable distance from home, say with 100 miles, they will only tow me to the nearest repair facility. Since that's not only very inconvenient, I also do most of my own work so I'd rather the truck and trailer towed home. That could be the deal breaker.

AAA will tow you anywhere you specify. But my understanding is that they don't always have equipment available to tow trailers in some parts of the country.

Anyone have real world experience with Coachnet? What about other services, Good Sam for example? Or even AAA when in a state that is not your home?

AAA is only good for cars and Trip Tiks. They couldn't find anybody to change a Class "C" MH tire in Indianapolis. Their RV PLUS is a waste.
