EMS Sucess Story?

I was camping a few days ago up in the Allegheny Mountains. About midnight one h**l of a storm passed over - one of those where you see the lightening at the same time as the thunder strikes. The entire campground went dark, and my CPAP and AC went down as well.

A few minutes later the power came back on and within a few more minutes my pedestal mounted PI EMS PT30X allowed power back into the camper.

I didn’t go out in the storm to look at any readings on the device, but in the morning all was showing ok.

Did the EMS keep anything in my camper from being fried?

Who knows, but I felt a sense of relief knowing I had it!

I had posted earlier in the summer that my Progressive Industries unit got fried during a thunderstorm. However, everything in the trailer was fine. I wasn't happy about having to replace the unit, but it's better than the damage that could have been done.

Sounds like yours did it's job and survived to work another day.

Exactly! And on the other side of that coin somebody is sitting in the TT wondering why some of the electronics won’t come back on.

Congrats. Obviously I too am a believer.

I have a PI EMS PT30X at my seasonal site. I notice that on at least 2 or 3 occasions over the past 2 seasons, it has shut down power for low voltage. I notice it when we arrive from home for the weekend and the microwave clock has reset. Sure enough, when I go check the EMS, it has logged the error. Whether or not it's actually saved my appliances from LV damage, I don't know. But I'm glad I have it.

That's another good thing about a EMS it is working for you even if your not there.
