Eternabond

For those that have used eternabond ... is the 4" wide enough for where the front cap meets roof? I can't measure right now and I want to order some. dealers are crazy expensive!
Thanks in advance

That’s what I used on my front cap.

Are you going right over the lap sealant?

I used 2 rows of the 4”. 6” would work better but 2 rows of the 4” worked. At the end of the day the 4” was good enough for me. Saved buying 2 different widths. In a perfect world I’d get just enough 6” to do the cap and do the rest in 4”, but . . .
For our 39’ 5th I ordered 100’.
Yup, cleaned the existing sealant with mineral spirits and put the EB over it.

Me too, only I used acetone to clean the lap sealant.

I haven't done it on my 2017 yet. Let's just say that I learned my lesson a while back when I attempted to remove the old sealant on my former Nash before putting on the Eternabond and made myself quite a job.

I used 4" wide Eternabond, which means using to laps of Eternabond to get the required width. But, Eternabond sticks to itself better than anything else so it's not really a problem to do two laps.

Make sure everything is nice and clean before applying the Eternabond and press or roll it down hard. Remember that Eternabond will not stretch, so putting it on irregular surfaces sometimes makes some "pleats". Planning can minimize the pleats.

I went over the old caulk, hence I needed 6".

Great stuff, just do not stretch it.

I used the 4".

I put it on my 2017, 26BH immediately after purchase. Because the lap sealant on my trailer was new, it came off reasonably easy with a plastic putty knife.

Because I was applying to a fairly pristine surface, I reasoned that 4" would sufficient. So far so good.
