EternaBond To Seal Roof
I need to redo my caulking and have decided to use EternaBond. Any suggestions on width? It seems like 2" would be sufficient, but 4" would surely cover well (And might be too wide). I am actually worried I might have a leak near the front as my floor on the front side seems a little soft. I may pull up the flooring and check at some point.......
I have a 2006 Jay Feather LGT (29' box, 32"). THanks.

I did the 4” on the front cap of my 5er and 2” on the rear. Just do a good job prepping the surface (I used acetone).

Just remember, you can cut the 4" down if it is too wide but you can't make 2" wider without creating another seam.

I used 6 inch material on my front cap / roof seam because it was a wide strip and I did not want to add another seam. All the rest were 4 inch material.

Are you removing all the lap sealant and just doing tape or are you taping over the lap sealed seam?

Haven't decided on that yet. I've been reading up on what others have done and trying to determine what is best. It seems that removing as much existing caulking as I can is the best.......

I removed the high spots with a plastic putty knife then cleaned the rest with the spray cleaner. If you have a low spot, I would fill it with caulk before covering to keep water from pooling in a low spot because the eternabond will assume the surface it covers.
I used a small wooden wallpaper seam roller to make sure it was stuck.

I went over the old caulking after I cleaned it up. I needed 6" to cover the caulking along the front cap seam.
I then just used 6" to cover all the other caulking. In most places I used it full width. In some places such as the refrigerator vent I cut it down.
The only caulking I did not cover was the tv antenna caulking.
I used most of a 50' roll.
Tip: do NOT stretch eternabond. If you do it will release, I found this out years ago when I had a small tear.

I would assume I do the edges of the roof all the way down? That would be a lot of tape.

I used 6" across the front cap/roof seam. I used 4" around the roof perimeter. I used 4" around cut outs for roof mounted items. I used Eternabond sealant caulk (great product) along the edges of the tape. I used GeoCel clear sealant along the tape where it connects to the roof/wall seams. I used Geocel clear down the cap, rear wall, side wall seams and around the door, storage doors, and windows (no tape). I cannot think of much else that I can do to prevent leaking and water penetration into the walls and roof.

I did not tape the perimeter edges.
