Hello eduvall79, you are going to get a lot of yes and no answers on this subject. From personal experience, I purchased an extended warranty in 2008 and never had to use the standard 2 year or the extended warranty so far. I am very glad that my Jayco has been trouble free for 4 years and if any major problems do come up in the next few years, than I will be very glad I have the coverage. On the other hand, if I am real lucky and never have any warranty issues, I may dream about what I "could have" done with the money I spent on the extended warranty.

All insurance, including service contracts, is better to have and not need than to need and not have. Compare the cost to the benefits provided and decide if you prefer to self insure any loss outside of the factory warranty coverage. If you're comfortable without the coverage, forget it and press on.

I haven't had a need to obtain service under the factory warranty but I'm glad the coverage is in place. I purchased the 7 year JayPlus Warranty and I'm satisfied the coverage was worth the investment even if it's never used. If I decide to sell my Jayco, the JayPlus warranty will make the unit more desirable by providing any potential purchaser with warranty coverage.

My friend was an investigator for extended warranty companys.. he was told to refuse legitimate claims. They dont make money approving claims... When I asked my bodyshop man about it he told me to put the same amount of money in a savings account for future repairs..

WE bought one on our last 2 campers. SO far haven't used it, but like the peace of mind just in case. Read the fine print before deciding because some are certainly better than others.

We bought our 23B used so the 2 year warranty was not transferable, so we bought a warranty thru the dealership. I can't remember the name of the company they use, but it was alot of money. If we do not use it, then in 2 years we get most of the money back.

There are tons of threads dealing with this exact question. Most people say no, I said yes for the peace of mind it gives me.

What about the extended warranty options offered by the Manufactures directly? Like ones for the refrigerator, AC, Heaters , etc.
Has anyone purchased those or just the Jayco extended one?
