Extended warranties, like Good Sam ESP

I wonder if the Good Sam ESP (Extended Service Plan), works well for Rvers
who have a breakdown a ways from home?

I feel I have been taken advantage of, when I was in this situation.

With a third party paying part of the bill, would a repair place be less likely to try charge an RVer all they figured they could?

The extended warranties bought from a dealer, often benefit the dealer with a big commission, but do little for the consumer. But, I think Good Sam is
better in this repect.

Good Sam Enterprises reported a profit of $3.9 million, last month, the first profit since 2007. So, I think Good Sam will be around for a while.

Hey DogFather... welcome to the forum. I can't comment on the Good Sam ESP since I don't have it and haven't used it but maybe someone else will. What you say makes sense though. I would hope that GS could negotiate better (from a volume position) than you or I might in a remote location should we break down.

If you put the money in an account instead of in the plan you will have protection. Most items like AC, furnace, refrigerator, etc are a lot less than the cost of a policy. In my opinion the insurance companies wouldn't offer protection policies if they don't make money on them.
