External Water Filtration / Regulators - what are you using and why?

I did a quick search in the list archives on water filtration and came up with a lot of threads on problem solving - but little on what people are using and why (be specific please) ....so here goes mine

I just bought a Camco 40631 EVO Premium....(the Camco TastePURE w/ 100 micron filtration we used last season wasn't satisfactory at all. It sputtered charcoal everytime we hooked it up and we couldn't notice any change in water smell when odors were present.)

We sanitize our system once a year, then use a pressure regulator on the city water line to the camper in the CG. Reduces to about 45 pounds. We use the city water only for dishes, hand washing, and toilet. Inline filter is replaced once a season. We bring our own drinking water from our home well. System is rinsed out after every trip with home well water. Reason for regulation is that once I turned on the city water at a CG and the pressure was so great that I almost lost control of the hose (fortunately it was not yet connected to the trailer - would have blown out my plumbing system for sure). Hope this helps.

We've been using a standard whole house taste & odor filter from Home Depot/Lowes/Menards for years, never had any problems.

I follow you exactly on your procedures above - we do the same.....I'm just hoping the 5 micron Camco 40631 filter will go substantially further in reducing odors and particulates in the "general use" water in our TT. It's hard to get the DW's confidence to rinse dishes or hands in stinky / dingy water!

x2 on the CG water for dishes, flushing etc.. We stock up on our drinking /cooking water from home before each trip.

I use a water pressure regulator before the hose is connected to the water line. Then I use a standard blue hose filter, then a 2 micron whole house filter. I use the 2 micron filter because I am getting my water from a spring 700 foot up the side of the mountain. When traveling I only use the water pressure regulator and the inline blue hose filter.

This is one feature I'll miss from my Forest River - whole coach plumbed filtration. Not sure why Jayco doesn't offer this on the Eagle TT line, but I will watch this thread. In my Forest River, I replaced the filter twice a season (we heavily use our coach) and the system worked real well. I used the Omni filter cartridge:

I use the following system. The pressure regulator is hooked to the water source before the hose and the filter system is mounted in the basement. Both the sediment and charcoal filters are 1 micron. At my home base the sediment filter lasts 4-6 months. At the state park where I host in the summers the sediment filter lasts about 2 weeks and that is with just me using the water. I replace the charcoal filter once a year.
