FINALLY! I fixed my oven...

Since new (two years now), my oven in the Eagle would not stay lit. More precisely, the pilot would not remain ignited. When at the Jayco factory last year, it was on my "fix-it" list; but, I had other issues I wanted fixed as well and focused on those repairs first. Long story short, the oven was overlooked and remained inoperable.

We converted the oven to a bread-box and put the oven repair back on the "fix-it" list. It should be noted that I checked the thermocoupler with a multimeter in the past and all checked OK. So, today being a cool damp day, I figured I would take the thermocoupler out and just replace it. When I went to disconnect the gas line from the coupler, I discovered that it was finger loose. Once I tightened this connection I could hear a 'click'. VOILA! The pilot light lit.

Now we need to find a new place for our bread...

We don't have an oven in the 17z. In our old motorhome we used the oven probably 5 times in 10 years. It worked well but like others have stated here, it normally served as a breadbox!

It is always the little stuff that will get ya!

We actually use our oven pretty regularly. With kids, the occasional chicken nugget or frozen pizza comes in really handy....

We have been stationary for months now (we are full-timers); so, the outside grill / smoker did the baking. The end of October we hit the road. The grill / smoker is not coming with us. Having the oven fixed is just a bonus. Even if we rarely use it.

Way to go on the oven fix. That frequently happens to me - I'll either be looking for something else, or trying to fix something else, and the solution to an ongoing problem will suddenly appear out of nowhere.
