First trip in our first camper

My wife and I took our two children 6 and 8 years old in our new 264bhw to camp wilderness at carowinds for 3 nights for our first trip. We had a great time and learned a few things while there. The children were slightly disappointed because we did not bring a fire pit to have a fire at night. We have only tent camped at state parks and fire pits were always supplied so we had no clue we needed to bring our own. I have been reading on here for about a month so I feel like thanks to y'all we had a successful trip.

We had a similar experience when we went on a trip last year and stayed at a commercial campground. Like you, we almost always camp at state parks or national forests.

Fortunately, our site had portable fire pits available free of charge, you just needed to ask them for one.

I looked at Camp Wilderness at Carowinds website and it had the following:
Ground fires are not permitted, however fire pits are permitted and can also be rented from the store
So if you go again, either bring one, or you can rent one and the kids can have a fire.

And congratulations on the new camper.
