Flat Tire Tools

We use to be able to use the jack from my trucks to use when changing tires. Now we were talking our 2020 Ford Explorer has a very weak looking jack. I went and purchased a 6 ton bottle jack and a lug wrench for the trailer.
We were taking the tire repair for granted.
We went to the dealer where the trailer has been living this year. When checking to see if the jack will do the job I noticed the brake cable needed replaced. The Vineland coating was holding it together. Thank God I found this. The dealer never noticed it!
When I get this trailer home we are going all over it. I missed this and that has me mad at myself. I always check everything we stop for gas. I check hitch parts, tires and hub temperature.
I am so happy we thought about jacking up the trailer!

Good thing you caught it before something happened - safe travels!

Good catch. I try to crawl all over the TT and under it, at least once preferably twice a year, and inspect everything for wear, and leaks.

Every year I paint the undercarriage and toung. Pull the hubs and inspect the bearings then repack them with grease. Every 5 years we replace the tires. Try not to miss anything but sometimes I miss something. I do not just get the trailer inspected and nothing else. We have had one tire blowout in the early 80’s. We have replaced tires on everything we owned. Next thing will be rain gear for replacing a tire in the rain. I need to purchase some flares. Then I think we have it.
