When my kids were younger, we used to camp at ski resorts parking lots regularly. We would freeze up at night all the time, it would get below zero all the time. So here is what I did to help. As others have mentioned, keep the cupboard doors open that have plumbing in them. I also added small heat ducts from the furnace to troublesome areas. In some areas I would add heat tape around water lines, which is like an extension cord that gets hot. I also keep an old hair dryer that I plug in once I get the generator running. Most of the time it only took a hour or so to get everything thawed out. I don’t recall any broken pipes. Black and grey tanks and dump valves would freeze up, but would still accept more. I would just need to dump on the way home or sometimes a day later. Sometimes we would use the shower facilities at the ski resort or community center. 5 gallon fresh water jug helps get through the really cold trips. Rv’s are designed much better than in the past. Just need to practice dry camping to the max. It was all part of the experience.
