Fresh water drain tube

Looking for some info on the fresh water drain tube on my Jayco Bunkhouse< Why does water come out of the drain tubes if I am not utilizing the freshwater tank?

Welcome aboard!

Can you confirm water is coming from the FW tank drain and not the plumbing low point drains. Typically the plumbing low point drains are under the bathroom sink. Newer campers have a red and a blue pex tube. Older campers will have blue pex piping.

If water is dripping from the FW tank low point drain (clear braided hose), then your check valve at the water pump is not fully sealing, and a little bit of water is leaking past. Look up your pump model and there is a rebuild kit for the check valve. Not hard to do, but often getting the pump out can be a pain, as they are buried in some cubby.

It is not uncommon for the plumbing low points to drip. They are a simple pull handle, with an O-ring that creates the seal. Debris can get caught in the O-ring seal, or get nicked. The O-rings are easy to replace.

Drain Tube

Thanks, I think i am getting this together. It's definitely the freshwater drain. But you got me to thinking. This unit is new. I am not using the freshwater tank but I realize now I never emptied it from winterizing. I inadvertently hit the fresh water pump the other day while checking my waste tanks. I'm guessing I triggered release of the winterizing, but it should have stopped and its just dribbling now. Do you think I should put some water in the fresh water tank and operate it?
