Fresh water fill

Evening. I filled up my fresh water tank tonight for the first time. I was expecting it to just fill to the top and spill out. However it started pouring out of a hose under the trailer. So I stopped filling it and it eventually stopped coming out of the hose under the trailer. Is this normal if you over fill your tank?

Yes, that is the overflow hose that runs out the bottom. I have 2 FW tanks so I have 2 if these hoses sticking out the bottom. It also allows pressure equalization.

Exactly. That means you're full and those are your overflow hoses to let the extra water out

X2. Just an added note, on some tts if the hose moves down, it can, in some situations syphon water out of the tank after filling.

Like he said, water can siphon out of the tank and it can be alot and the tubes don't have to move. On ours, just the water moving in the tank is enough to start the siphoning. We bought a couple of corks from Ace hardware. And, as our standard procedures, they go into the tubes when the slide goes in and out of the tubes before the slide goes out.

You may want to search these forums for the words "pukes" and "puking" for many shared experiences with this problem.

Mine would siphon 1/3 of the water out of the tank. I installed hose barbs and pvc caps to stop the siphoning.
