Fresh Water Fill Full????

First time this weekend taking water with us. I filled up at home until the inside meter displayed full. While we were out and started using water it changed from full to 3/4 rather quickly. Then from 3/4 all the way down much slower. Is there a way to know when I am "topped off?" Could I have actually filled more? I am assuming the water would just start backfilling out the fresh water inlet correct? We have the elite package with 80 gallon tanks. How long should a normal family of four be able to go with only baths for 2 kids?

it should begin first to come out the 2 overflow hoses by the axle underneath then ultimately out the screen right at the fill where your hose goes in.

My "full" light lights-up long before the tank is really full, so I use the same practice that we use on fire apparatus. Fill until water comes out the overflow. I've found that this is aboutn5 gallons beyond the full light...l

Thank you, that's what I thought but wasn't 100% sure!

Good question ... I cant remember where the last sensor is placed in the tank. but remember it should draw down both so it should take a little bit ... the rear tank on mine is the one with the sensors

How many days you get from your water tanks is totally a personal thing!

I used to get about a week by myself from 20 gallons of fresh water. Add SWMBO and it drops to less than 3 (killer showers!)

How much water each person uses... Give the kids something closer to a sponge bath using only an inch or so of water in the tub.

Look up "navy shower" and use the lathering valve to minimize water consumption.

Consider disposable tableware to save water too.

All are trade-offs.

Teaching everybody on board about water conservation should be a nice family experience.

Don't get to obsessed with the indicator lights. In short time you will be able to predict with more accuracy when they are full.

Thanks for the tips, I have no problem with Navy showers. Wife is different story. My compromise was purchasing a 45 gallon collapsible fresh water tank for easy refills. Happy wife happy life.
