Fun at the racetrack

Spent 3 nights/4 days at the racetrack last weekend with overnight lows in low to mid 30's. used a space heater to augment the furnace and we were all nice and cozy in the 19H. Of course some of my TT friends just had to come give me a hard time about the quick reflectix covers I made (PUG's haven't come yet) but I'm very glad I made them just before we left.

Everything worked great and received many compliments on the Jayco as well as all the mods to it. Couple other Jayco owners there and one of them had lots of questions about the mods. The other has a huge older 5th wheel and I could really see the quality in that TT - probably made in their heyday of establishing their reputation for quality; the woodwork was beautiful and everything felt very solid in it.

A few pics from the trip:

Before I left with the new drop-shank setup for level towing. Just barely tongue-down now.

Setup at the site.

My friends giving me grief about the "easy-bake oven" and lots of alien jokes.

My son who wants Halloween to come early, my daughter who prefers to play her DS or read all weekend in pajamas, my dear GF and the kids, and one of me and the kids.

Was a great weekend - what did I learn?

Take a look where your step lands when you "site-in" if I would have backed up another 4 feet my step would have been over the grass rather than the dirt that kept getting tracked into the TT all weekend.

When I had my Trail Lite R-Vision Hybrid I had similar covers for the bunk ends. Silver on the outside to reflect the summer heat and flipped them over in the fall to keep the heat in. Really cut down on the condensation as well. They were made to fit my model trailer. Made by Pop-up-gizmos, they have custom fitted covers for most pop ups and hybrids.

Yes, I am the President of Central Roadracing Association and this was our last event of the year and included our 5-hour endurance race. We had 21 teams and a total payout of $11,000.

Fun weekend.

Fun weekend.

Sounds like you have a very active association. I was president of out local club for 5 years. Raced mostly Motocross and Crosscountry.

I'm at Road Atlanta right now for the 2011 Petit Le Mans. If any of you race fans are here, I'm on the skid pad site #13. Stop by for a cold one, or a cup as the case may be.
