Gas water heater

I was gonna sleep in my Jayco in the yard we turned the heater on without the water turned on the water heater was burn without water in the tank is that bad I turned it all off just in case

if the gas was turned to the heather it wouldn't give much problems, if you used electric it might have damaged the element, so I would check the element either with a camera or by removing it.

I only have gas on my heater and water heater when u turn the heater on the main control it lights both we was gonna have a camp out tonight I didn’t have the water hooked up and it was drained last time we camped but it was steady running I killed it all after a few min. I guess I’m asking if I wanna do that should I add enough water to keep the tank full so it will heat up and shut down once warm

Dang, hope the repair is simple.

Filling the WH tank will address that. I must admit if my thermostat turns on both devices I would fiind the hot wire to my WH and install an inline switch or disconnect it from the WH.

Good idea I don’t think anything was damaged when I noticed it running still I killed the whole thing it only ran a few min

Never saw a unit that would light the furnace and water heater at the same time. I would definitely split that circuit into two separate switches.
