Geeze, I’m so bored...

I’ve now been stuck in Kerrville, Texas, for two days. Front left hub went bust on my TV, so here I sit broken-hearted, and facing a 2k bill! Luckily, Ive got a good supply of booze...

Safe travels the rest of the way!

Fix it yourself while you're bored and save $1500, or more.

If it's any consolation there are some nice eateries in/around Kerrville...., Y. O. Ranch Hotel has a nice lunch buffet.

I’m sorry about your repair troubles.
Kerrville is nice, however.
Go have a margarita at Mamacita’s.

Are you getting it fixed at the dealer? Surprised you didn’t drive away with a new truck [emoji23]

Seriously, I had truck issues with my previous TV. It was an 06 F350. I needed a turbo boot. Luckily for me, the Ford dealer had one in stock and I replaced it in the parking lot. If not, who knows. I may have upgraded trucks sooner. I “only” had to pay $125 for what amounted to a shortened radiator hose.

I just had both my front wheel bearings replaced on my 06 PSD F350.

A little less than 1k for both. What else are they doing?

Bad day camping still better than a good day at work.

The last time I had to get a new battery, it cost me $32,000. They sure are expensive.

Aren't dealership prices great? I realize that you just have to use them in times like these, but they sure do sock it to you.

Try and enjoy the area while you are there.

Well, I’m back on the road as of two days ago, but couldn’t reply until now.

Thanks for your thoughts, best wishes, and ideas!

Interesting and good thoughts while stranded: I was parked at the Elks Lodge that served food and had a good bar; I’ve decided to move up to a bigger truck for better sway control (F250 or F350); great BBQ nearby (I swear, only Texans can do brisket right!); and I got to add 1,900 hundred points to my airline frequent flyer account!

Your darn right about Texas brisket! lol

Get the 350 so you won't need to upgrade trucks again. They aren't much more (maybe $1000 or less) than the 250. You'll have a much higher payload

Sounds like an experience I had with my wife's 2012 Edge at 5 years old. Went in for an oil change and they came out and said I needed to get a new battery and new tires at almost $1500.00. I said I would think about it. Walked outside and they had a beautiful new 2017 Edge with all the bells and whistles. I called my daughter who works for Ford in Tampa and got the employee pricing. Walked back to the service department and told the service manager, well I just changed tires and battery! Wife loves it.

Even funnier, the office secretary at our Ford dealership can't wait for us to trade in our used vehicle. She runs and buys them for herself as soon as they get it.

Glad you had fun in God’s country despite the vehicle troubles.
You’re right—our brisket in TX is awesome sauce.

Hope you enjoyed Kerrville. I wish we could move out there.
