Gel Coat Problems

Just a quick note to let you know I'm outta here. Thanks to all who have shared while I was here, much appreciated. My 2014 Whitehawk served me well, but I have traded it off for a Forest River product. (Park Model again)

I had some issues with the gel coat on the front fiberglass of the trailer. While it was slightly out of warranty, Jayco said 'tough luck' to me. I believe this is a widespread issue that needs to be addressed by Jayco. After the 'blind-eye' from Jayco CS, I bid them farewell. I was considering a new Jayco product until they refused to even have a conversation about my issues. No loyalty from them, means no loyalty from me. I've jumped ship back to FR. (not that they are any better) I think if you buy RV's long enough, you find they are all built a little crappy. JMHO.

Anyway, here's a pic of what to look for on your trailer. Examine yours now and before your warranty expires.

Your correct Gel Coat is an issue on ALL Rv's, and is why I choose metal rather than smooth. I can replace metal easily. Working at campgrounds I see all the issues...no company is immune to the issue. But Jayco 2 year warranty is much better than everyone elses 1 year warranty, in my HO.

Good luck with your new Unit.. a park model in a fixedd location should not have anywhere near the same issues...
