generator

I have a 1015 Jayco 27RLS.and I need to buy a generator.
Do I need an Inverter Generator or can I use a regular generator with a surge protector. Can I run the AC with a 2000 watt inverter?
Does anyone have A Champion 3000 watt inverter?and what do you think of it.
thanks Noahron

The Champion 3100/2800 watt Generator/invertor works perfectly and runs the A/C, but not the microwave at the same time. They are quiet and parts are easy to get when needed. Some like the Honda's are Yamaha's better because of a bigger wallet.
"I Luv My Champion" Generators are noisy and are not that neighborly.

That is the generator I bought! The electric start version.

I installed the oil, battery, and fuel and the generator fired right up at the first push of the remote start button!

It's running now for the break-in (first 5 hours) using a portable electric heater for a load (trailer isn't here just now). Very pleased.

(Note: I had to buy a gas can. The cans since 2009 are a Royal PIA to use! )

I bought two Honda EU2000 generators for my last fiver. Hooked together they ran the a/c and microwave with no problem. A little spendy? Perhaps, but very quiet and portable. When I wasn't going to need the a/c, one would handle the rest of the trailer nicely.

I'm a fan of Champion generators; however, a good friend just bought the 3100/2800 inverter gen and it's not that quiet (58 db). I have a Champion 3500 watt standard generator that I paid $350 for at O'reilly and they are similar in noise output.
