Getting to know my new Jayco, Pt 1

Hi, I'm a proud owner of a 2019 Jayco 20BH Jayfeather travel trailer. Really love it, the size is perfect for what we want. I'm not new to RV's, bought my first one in 1987 (26' Holiday Rambler) and since have owned a class C, as well as a pickup camper. This new rig, while pretty straight forward has a few things I would like to know more about.

It has a pre wired space for a backup camera, the brand name is Furrion, and sure looks pretty slick the way it mounts up. But the price for Furrion is considerably more than I am seeing from other wireless backup camera systems. As I am sort of watching my money a little tighter than usual and I am tempted to go with a cheaper brand. The issue is how to get the 12v power from the Furrion camera mount to the different and separately mounted camera. Has anyone else tried this? My thought was to drill a small hole in the cover of the existing pre wired Furrion box (see photo) and splice it to the other camera. Any idea as to if this will work? The Furrion's are running over $500, and I am seeing other brands going for a fraction of the price.. Thanks!

I bought a Tadi Brothers camera.
They have an adaptor mount for the Furrion base and the camera power cord plugs right in.

Some other brands might also.
Lots of threads here.

I had the Furrion camera preinstalled with my 2019 Eagle. System works well, but the screen was tiny and the resolution crap. I ended up swapping to Haloview. For the same cost as Furrion with just the rear view, I got a 3 camera system with two side views as well. Has a nice 9" screen.

When I first bought my 21QB I decided to wait before installing a back up camera. I'm still waiting four years later. I can count on one hand where I really wished I had it.
