Good Sam question

When we bought our camper from camping world they gave us the good Sam membership. I don't think I've used it yet. The renewal form came in the mail. Now, does anyone use the good Sam membership? Is it worth having and paying for?
Thanks
Philipp

I do use it, and it's probably paid for itself. Gives you discounts at CW, some campgrounds, and fuel discounts at Flying J. There are probably a lot more advantages too, but those are the three that we use

I think it depends on your specific circumstances.
  • It's not terribly expensive.
  • You get nice discounts on purchases at affiliated stores. Online, also, IIRC.
  • You get discounts on overnight stays at Good Sam member campgrounds.
  • That's just off the top of my head.
We saved nearly the cost of the membership in the RV the day we got it, shopping at the Camping World store in Harrisburg, PA. During our upcoming trip to Maine in June we'll save 10% on our stay at Boothbay; after 8 nights it will more than cover the Good Sam membership cost.

Again, depends on your circumstances.

We also have the Good Sam and as others have indicated, for us the savings cover the club cost.
We primarily use it / get savings from:
Campground Discounts
Camping World purchases.

We also have the Good Sam Emergency Road Care, which is something else you may want to look at.
It covers TV, TT and all other cars / vehicles, including kids.
We've used it many times for flat tire change, towing, etc.

We've had the GS membership and have found it worthwhile...

The best part of the Good Sam membership are the twice yearly (spring and Fall) state Samborees, and the monthly get-togethers and camp-outs with whatever local chapter you decide to join. They're a great group of folks, and a wonderful source of help with whatever camper issues you might run into.

Enjoy!

You don't have to use your TT either, if you desire a cabin or yurt sometime the discount still applies.

I just joined Good Sam for 2 years for $50.00 and received a $25.00 coupon in the mail good at Camping world . I used the coupon toward a surge protector . Camping World has the buggiest selection of RV supplies near me . I have not used the discounts for gas or rv parks yet .

You can also use your discount at Camping World for bug spray!

I've had a GS membership for years. The CW gift certs and discounts come in handy. Just be careful when shopping at CW. I've found that even with the GS discount their prices can still be higher than other places.
