Greasing My RV suspension

Proper steps in preparation to greasing any piece of machinery/equipment.
Step 1: Find grease gun, pull spring loaded handle, open gun, remove old grease cartridge.
Step 2: Open new grease cartridge, insert into grease gun body just in time for the spring-loaded handle to dislodge and shoot the grease cartridge like a missile across the garage.
Step 3: Retrieve grease cartridge and repeat steps 1 & 2. With grease gun loaded, proceed to step 4.
Step 4: Pump approx. one cup grease into one hand, rub hands together until both are well coated with grease.
Step 5: Rub grease coated hands over every inch of body and cloths.
Step 6: Go to your toolbox and remove and touch every tool in it.
Step 7: While touching the tools, when you get to the claw hammer, utilize the claws to strike two knuckles on each hand to peel the skin off. (The claws are spaced exactly right for this task)
Step 8: Go to you truck, set in the seat, and rub the steering wheel.
Step 9: You now ready to grease any piece of machinery/equipment!

It is absolutely amazing how grease jumps off whatever surface you are TRYING to grease and will land on any / every other surface!! Greatest example - a trailer hitch ball!!!

Seems to happen when wearing good clothes. Never when wearing old jeans.

Now you want a real challenge?
Grandparents and Dad where frugal on the farm! No cartridges for us oh no!
10 gallon pail of grease. Remove pump head from gun.
Shove gun barrel in grease. Pull back on spring loaded plunger. engage in grease covered notches
Attempt one handed to put pump handle assembly back on gun barrel covered in grease and thread on. Do not drop!
Dropped. Now pick up grease covered gun clean dirt off from dirt floor and attempt to reload as plunger released spreading grease everywhere except back in pail
On 5th attempt got it threaded onto gun.
Now loosen handle enough to let air bubble out but not enough to disengage threads.
Onto the 7th attempt.
Success! Gun loaded! Air bubble removed! Arms are now covered from elbows down in grease. T shirt and pants front side as well. Pail is now half empty. Other half of grease is on dirt floor with empty walnut shells mixed in. Grab a shovel to clean up floor Hide the dirty grease
Forget your hands are greasy. you Now shovel handle is greased.
20 minutes later area is semi cleaned up and walking out to baler to grease it up. Dad says what took you so long?
Oh and you still gotta pump it 50-100 times to get the next air bubble out!
I kid you not! True story from a small farm kid!

At what point did your 9 year old and 7 year old walk up and rub against the grease? You are missing that point in the story, at least in my version of it!
