Ok, I went to buy my first Ipad. The salesman asked if I wanted the cellular Ipad so I could get a data plan. I just wanted to use it for Wi-Fi so I bought the cheaper one, I did not intend on getting a data plan (I have a phone for that).
Now I find out that the Wi-fi only ipad does not have GPS built in. What to do?
I researched, and here is the answer:

It is a device that sits on your dash, or in your pocket if you are geochaching, and turns your Ipad into a GPS. Speaks to the Ipad via bluetooth. I downloaded maps from Pocketearth and Maps with me and it works great. It's like being on the net, but without any connection. I want to find a Tim's (for you Americans that's my favorite Canadian coffee), you just search for restaurants. Going down the road, in the middle of nowhere, it works.
I bought mine at GPS city in Canada.
