Has anybody used a keyless lock?

If so, did you like it? I got an email with one in it and it looks interesting...

Looked neat until I seen the $239 price tag. Think ill stick with what I got for now. I'm all about keyless, do not need a key to get into my garage or house of my stick home but that didn't even cost me that much. Maybe the price will eventually come down.

I agree...with having young children it would be nice to not have to carry around keys and just remember numbers....but really...$240???????

I believe the technology is relatively simple, so why would it cost that much ?? Somebody is out to make a killing, IMHO. In that situation, I would delete the email and go on with what I have.

I'm glad we had it done when we ordered the trailer, I believe it was only about $140 for it. Definitely a nice feature to have. I'm sure the aftermarkets will get cheaper.

We have that exact same unit on our trailer. My wife has Multiple Sclerosis, and the steps are just far enough away from the door to cause her problems trying to get the key in the lock, and turn it. After breaking off two keys, and her almost falling when she was leaning forward, I bought the unit. Ours has worked 100% of the time. It likes batteries, AA batteries, and takes less then 5 minutes to replace them. Our batteries are only lasting about 3 months. We had this unit put on in April or May, and I've changed the batteries once all ready. The dealer told me it would happen. You will notice a slower responce time with the key pad, and the motor will sound like it is dragging. When this happens, I just change the batteries. If you put it on yourself, be ready to spend some time getting it lined up exactly. It is a latch, so it does have to be lined up. I took mine apart and used some lube on the gears. I'm very happy I bought ours.
Safe Travels,

What happens if the batteries go dead while you are away?
