Has anyone used AAA or AARP Roadside Assistance while camping?

I'm think of joining AARP Roadside Assistance through Allstate - I procrastinated (of course) and the special offer ends today. Anyone else use these services? From where / who?

Thanks!

I have AAA roadside for our cars, and to add the RV on to our package was a pretty nominal amount. It seemed much cheaper to bundle it than to go elsewhere, but hopefully I'm not leaving myself exposed in some way I haven't thought of.

Good Sam just ran a special for annual fee of $79.95.
FWIW, Good Sam & Coach Net are the two biggies in RV Road Service. There's plenty of AAA horror stories about being in the boondocks somewhere and AAA can't find anyone to tow you in so you're on your own to get a tow and submit the bill later. This problem exists more so out West and the remote rural areas.

Personally we have Coach Net and their service has been great.

Has anyone noticed that the lower case Q=q is the same as lower case G=q ??????? Hmmm

Thanks - I first did an archive search on "towing" and came up with a zillion hits (duh)....should have done "roadside service".

Good advice....thanks.

I have had to use both AAA and Goodsam. Get the Good Sam and they will take care of you. AAA is good for your cars but Good Sam really took care of me and my fifth wheel twice when we broke down. AAA Plus just pulled me to the next exit and left me there.

We have AAA they took us to a Chrysler dealer for our Dodge Ram. The towing service was great. But since it was Saturday they wouldn't work on our truck period and told us to get our trailer off of their lot. We struggled on for 12 hours and finally got to our destination with a little help from our friends. My DW said new truck I said Ford this time, the service may be the same deal but I will take the chance. By the way I offered to pay the overtime!

We have our roadside service through our insurance company (State Farm). We pay $2 more a month on our truck premium, and it covers assistance with anything attached to our truck (we have the 5th wheel and 2 car trailers). BUT THE BIG DRAWBACK IS...we have to pay up front if something happens, then get reimbursed from State Farm. Only $24 "wasted" if not used during the year, but who knows how much money out-of-pocket initially if something does happen. Luckily we haven't had to use it yet.
