As soon as you said rock snot, I knew exactly what you meant. Is your explanation of how it is spread scientific or your opinion? Just wondering if it does not occur without shoes doing it.

Just a thought cause we frequent many streams and have not seen but a few fly fisherman.

I don't think it's shoes but the problem is it was identified as one of the causes. So they allowed rubber shoes in some areas, which is dangerous but worth it if you know what you are doing. Most hatchery supplied streams are only fished a few weeks each year and when they are it's hard to find a place to fish. But the wild trout streams such as the Hoslton are fished year round with the exception of spawning season.
