Thumbs up Have you spotted CHEAP Diesel lately?

The bride and I spent a few days at a park near Weatherford TX this week. Dropped off the 5th at the dealer (Mesquite TX) for a few warranty items and motored back to Mo City yesterday. What a great outing! Entire trip was "drama free" and weather was beautiful. To top it off look at the price of diesel at the Buc-ee's in Madisonville.

I've not see it below 3 bucks up here in Maine. If diesel that low, what are the gas prices like?

That's a good question. I didn't even look at the gas pump even tho I was standing right in front of it. I figure it had to be a promotional thing. I was paying close to $3/gal at the Interstate truck-stops.
Local to home I see regular for $1.75 and the lowest diesel is $2.59

Our diesel here is $3.15 while regular unleaded gas is $3.25 for a $.90 differential. I have to think somebody is gouging us diesel drivers, but nobody will fess up to it.

WOW! $2.99 here is the best I have seen. I hope they keep heading south through Camping season! Half price fuel bill this year if so. More beer money

Should help with truck sales too leading to more used stock in a year or 2 when I am going to be back in the market!

$2.91 is the cheapest diesel I've seen around here. Probably less up in Indy.

$2.74 in N Iowa $1.91 on gas. Usually .10 to .20 cents cheaper 30 miles west of me.

I'm glad everybody enjoys the cheap fuel prices. I do, but there is a trade off for people like me. If you're in the oilfield (19 years for me), you either are, or will be paying for it in another way. Everything oilfield related, at least a chunk of it is going through big lay offs right now. I just dodged the bullet this past Tuesday and was one of the lucky ones, but it's not over yet. Just cold stacked one rig and hauled it to Port Isabel, TX, and there are several more on the way. So, while the RV industry thrives with record sales, the people like me that buy the dang things, walk away. Luckily I paid cash for mine, and I'm not in a huge bind like some now.

One man thrives, and another suffers while we enjoy the cheap fuel.

$2.59 just northeast of Denver is the cheapest I've seen so far.

My comment to those who work in the oil fields, I'm sorry that things are slowing down for you, but now the rest of us are starting to enjoy what you guys had during the recession. Times were tough for us, but you guys were living high on the hog. Now the rolls are reversing, and I will not apologize for being happy about the lower fuel prices. In the end, oil will rule again and prices will go back up once again.
Until then, drive on.

Cheap diesel? In Pennsylvania? Surely you jest!!

We have one of the highest state fuel taxes in the nation, and diesel is taxed higher than gasoline.

The only time I get an occasional "bargain" on fuel is when I have enough discount earned on either my Giant Eagle Advantage card or Shop & Save Perks card to apply to the cost of the fuel.

Filled up today in Jackson, Wyoming, that well-known cheap fuel spot, for $2.469, about $.50 cheaper than Lander, three hours down the road and maybe not as far away from a supplier than Jackson.

Filled up last week for $2.49. Back up to $2.69 now. This was at the local Kroger in Warner Robins,, GA. I will enjoy for now. Getting ready to camp in Savannah for a week and I bet the prices will be higher there with all the tourists! Oh well.

Arco station in Lodi Calif has been at $2.49 for the last couple of weeks. The market will find its own level eventually and I think prices will settle in around $3.00 in time.
