Hey f150 Super Crew Owners
The back seat is a 1/3 & 2/3 split. The 2/3 side apparently has some storage space behind it.
Has anyone installed one of these for easier access?

Murff, I did look at a version of that kit a while ago. I did find that if I lifted the seat bottom up on that side, the seat back came forward a little, and was just enough for me to get my hand back there, find the release lever and trip it. That one you're looking at has a great price and would sure make it easy to get back there like the passenger side release.
I kept the rear under-seat storage box from my Tundra that I traded, so I don't need to put anything behind the rear seat. I had bought that storage box from the dealer after I bought the truck, and it wasn't adding to the trade price, so they let me keep it for the Ford. Stupid money for a piece of plastic, but nice to have.

My 2017 F350 may need one of those. I am going to manually release mine and see if I will gain any storage as it does not look like much. On mine, I have a good bit of under seat storage but if this helps it may be worth it.
Just being able to pop it open manually is a very good tip. I thought it was bolted down until this thread.

I have a child safety seat in my 150 at this time. But, it will be coming out sometime in the near future as my daughter transitions to a booster seat. I can't wait to drop that down and see what is back there.

I went looking at that space in my old SCREW and decided it would be unique but ultimately wasn't that valuable. Between my underseat storage and plastic tote under a tonneau cover, it just wasn't needed. If you had something you were looking to hide or some unique storage application it is something to look at.
Having said that, I will probably do it for the cool factor in my new truck.

I installed one of those in the rear drivers side back seat of my F-250. More storage back there than I thought and makes it really easy to access the area.

OK, I am confused. Isn't your Super Duty's jack back there? Mine is. There is a strap to release it on the side of the seat back.
On my F150, I just pulled the pin with a looped zip tie.

Yes but it is accessed from the passengers side which is only the 40 of the
60/ 40 rear seat. The other side is not readily accessible unless you go with this after market dongle.

The jack and power inverter are behind the passenger side seat back on ours. There is some space for stuff behind the driver's side, and that release gizmo (I like "dongle" Norty) sure would make it easy to drop the seat back. For that price, I might get one 'just because'.
EDIT: This is the one I looked at last year.

I have a 2020 F150 SuperCrew but it is a stripped down model without a lot bells and whistles. There is virtually no storage space behind the 2/3 split. However there is a small compartment behind the 1/3 split on the passenger side of the vehicle for the tire jack and a few small doo-dads.
However my old 2001 F150 SuperCrew did have a nice storage area behind the 2/3 split. In that year/model the back portion of the seat folded down, rather than the newer 2020 model seat portion folding up.

I have a 2013 F150 super crew and did this mod on both rear seats for about $1 using 2 zip ties. It has been working for more than 3 years now and if a zip tie breaks, I have a bag full from Harbor Freight. You first have to grab the metal slide with a long box wrench to get the seat back folded down which is the most difficult part of modifying it.

Yes, installed similar "pull" two years ago. The latch must connect along a slide that must align when locking into place. On my 2018 XLT, there's some movement. Some space is given for a small extinguisher, ax, rifle, or other things to keep hidden.
