Hidden under sofa storage

I noticed in my 264bhw that there is a fair amount of unaccessed storage under the right side if the jack knife sofa. Anyone out there worked out a way to access this. I can get linens or the like in if I pause mid conversion. Ideas?

If it is like mine, lift the seat up (unfold the sofa partially) then pull up the bottom of the front panels and they should swing up giving you full access.

Great! We have the 2015 264BHW and had not thought about storage there under sofa. We did put struts on the queen bed, now lifts up like a dream making that storage very easy to get at and usable.

The front panel is that full length padded panel. That pulls up or swings up? I have a bad habit of being too gentle for fear of breaking things. Not that that has ever happened;-)

If there is a will, there is a way. Just start snooping. In one of the online photos, it looks like there is a heat duct coming out of the front, so there has to be a way to gain access. Start looking for screws. If there are any cup holders in the arm rest pull them up and look down and around (the best you can). Does it convert into a bed? If so convert it slowly and look at any gaps created while converting.

good luck, if you find a way post it.

Another thought, call Jayco with your vin number and ask if there is away to get under the sofa, use some excuse such as your little 2 year old pulled the cup holder up and dropped their favorite toy down the hole. If there is not one, does it appear you can drop something down between the cushion and the arm rest? If so, use the same excuse, or say your wallet/watch, smartphone slipped down there.

I believe the front pad is held on with wing nuts that are accessible from inside the frame. I haven't looked at mine in a long time since it seem like too much trouble to recover a small about of space. If I could get that cover to hinge up or away, it might make a good place to put shoes.

klpoppe is right on the money.

On these jackknife sofas, convert it 1/2 way so that is a "V" shape, then you can simply swing the bottom pannel up.

On our 26BH, we used this to store bulky excess food items like bottle water, beer & soda, as well as spare paper products. Things you need, don't access all the time, and take up way to much storage space in cupboards.

When I get home I'll go out and investigate. For reasons such as this, this site rocks!

I hide my 24 inch TV under my jackknife sofa while it's in storage. If someone broke into it, all they see is just the swing arm mount on the wall.

I have a 2013 26BH and I too have struggled with that storage space. The jack knife couch, when you lift it half way into a V, there is a metal bar that is in the way of the storage space making it impossible to put cases of water, soda or beer under there. I did put extra paper products under there but I am afraid they will be difficult to get out. If the front panels come out that will make much easier to access this space.
