Hitch on a Hummingbird
A brand new RVer here. Actually, as my username says, an Accidental Camper. We were not in the market for an RV, but more or less inherited a 2017 Jayco Hummingbird. I know absolutely nothing about travel trailers and never thought I would need to, so I am starting from ground up here. I'm sure I will have more questions as we use the trailer, but for now just one question that I'm afraid I already know the answer to . . . but we'll see. My wife and I have done all our traveling on a Goldwing trike for the last 12 years and never thought we would own an RV. But now that we have come into possession of this Hummingbird, I am rather taken with it. We've had it out once behind our 1500 RAM and it towed and handled very nicely . . . but I am still a biker at heart and can't imagine taking vacations without the Goldwing. So, does anyone know if it is possible to put a hitch on the back of a Hummingbird that would enable us to drag the Goldwing along on our trips? There is little information in the owner's manual other than saying that a factory-installed hitch is required under the warranty, which leaves me hopeful that perhaps it is possible to install a hitch, but looking at that little Hummingbird I am a bit dubious, although the bike only weighs about 850 pounds and less than 200 or so would be on the tongue, so it might work. Any help/advice anyone can give would be much appreciated. Thank you all very much!
