I have a F250 Crew cab if I get a 5th wheel with regular Morryde pin box will I have adequate turning radious without using a slider hitch?

Welcome to the forum, but, unfortunately, I can't help with your question.

For what’s its worth, I think sliders are needed for 5’ 5” beds. My Chevy has a 6’6” bed and I get a 88 degree turn without a slider using a BM hitch in its most rear position, which i think is like 2-3” behind center. I never have any issues. Some newer 5th wheels are curved in the front to give you more radius. Not sure if my rv came with a special pin box.

Mine has the regular Moryde pin box, SB truck, fixed Reese Elite hitch. No problems with getting the turn angle I need to back into sites. Last winter there was one site that I was close to the cab but I was turned more than I liked anyway due to narrow park road. I don't like pushing my trailer wheels sideways so no way I'm getting anywhere near 90deg even when I could (LB DRW)

Yes and no.

I had a manual slider at one time and ended up never using it. Hitch after that was fixed.

You do not get full turning capability with the fixed hitch and reg size bed.

But, I could go just about anywhere I needed to with the turning limits of a fixed hitch.

BEWARE!! You can hit the rear of the truck with the trailer so pay attention to the front trailer corners whenever you are turning.

The closest I came to hitting the window was in gas stations going FORWARD, not backing. Also, if you are going over a dip that uses up clearance as well. Especially a problem when going from an inclined driveway turning onto a road.

So, if you don't want to worry about it at all, then get an auto slider. If you don't mind watching when you turn a fixed hitch is just fine.

The one thing you do need to pay attention to is make sure you are straight with 5th wheel when hooking up.
There is NOT much room between tailgate and front of trailer.

I have plenty of room between my tailgate when dropped and the front of the trailer. I've hooked at an angle but never checked how much of an angle.

My 2016 F-350 has the 6.5' box as well. I do have a slider hitch (Curt) but have yet to use it in the slide mode. My 2017 Eagle HT 27.5RLTS has the MorRyde pin box and. I have actually jacked it pretty close to 90 degrees just to check clearances. Ideally, you should never get yourself in that kind of situation where you have to worry about it. BTW. I also have a headache rack on my truck. (holds my light for the fire department).

It's going to depend somewhat on the 5er and the shape of the front cap.. With our previous Eagle I didn't need the slide hitch, with the Pinnacle, if I still had the sb truck, there's no way I'd be without the slider.
