Holding My Breath

Long story short, while setting up Sunday a downpour hit. Finished blocking but hadn't set down stablizers, fortunately. Went inside and an hour later the soft ground moved a tad and the jack slipped off the block. Nose down she went. Somehow with the help of my trusty floor jack I got the coupler up out of the mud and eventually had her level again. But with stack of wood, the jack and the electric jack I felt the need for assistance.

A call to Coach Net Sunday night requesting help Monday was handled so well I thought I was talking to Mom. Sunday I got a call, as promised, at 7:30 a.m., was put on the phone with the tow truck driver and 45 minutes later he arrived, from a town 26 miles away. As always, having the proper tools made it a five minute job.

I'm now stable but crossing my fingers that there is no hidden damage to frame or slides. It may have been no worse to the trailer than hitting a bad chuck hole. We have no deadline, so I'll complete this leg of our trip before breaking down camp. But bringing in the slides will be one of the first things we do rather than the last before disconnecting shore power. :fingerscross:

I hear you!
Downpour here in Nova Scotia today, expecting 50mm rain, I think we got it already, it poured all night and morning.
The ground is washing away, watching the landing gear, hope all holds up ok.
Let us know how you and trailer are doing.

I had a similar experience happen to me with our first trailer. I was using a Bal " tongue twister". The twister tipped over and the round pipe that the jack handle is attached to sunk into the ground at least a foot. I was close to it and realized how dangerous it could be. I had to jack the front of the frame up with a car jack. Btw glad to hear something positive about Coach-net.
