How do you listen to music when you camp?

We all know the stock speakers in the Jayco 5th wheel line, and I am sure the other lines are horrible as well. Without dealing with replacing the stock speakers, how do you all listen to music?




If you answered #4 which model and how does it sound?

It's for background music if we play anything at all. The cheap speakers are fine for that. If I could or wanted to play it loud enough to need something better, I'd be disturbing everyone else.

We just use a CANZ speaker and an iPod. Other than using the house speakers on the side of the TT.

Bose Sound is amazing and very easy to hear even at low volume levels (not to disturb the neighbors).

We generally only listen in the morning while lying in bed, or if severe weather is expected. We NEVER listen while we are outside and don't use our outside speakers at all.

I'm a big music fan and have hundreds (maybe a thousand) CDs and records and mp3s at home. But when we go camping, it is to do things out of the norm that we do at home. So little music and no TV (don't have one in the trailer, don't miss it).

When it rains, we do a lot of reading. Peaceful and quiet.

If not listening to the radio through the factory speakers, we may use a SoundFreak BT or our friends have a Bose BT speaker also.

We also have an Onkyo BT at the house. Not sure we will take that with though.

I have considered replacing the speakers, at least the outside ones.... I do have a set of marine speakers bnib, should see if they will fit the outside speaker opening..... Is a set of MB Quart marine speakers overkill??? Lol

I don't listen to music when in a campground or at least my own. There is usually more than enough coming from other campsites that seem to think the world likes their choice in "noise".

I can't vote, only because I don't have crappy speakers in my pop up, but do have a head unit and 6.5" speakers. I bought my stereo and added it.

I hope all of you that use the Bluetooth speakers don't have a stereo in your campers, what a waste of money, should of spent the money to upgrade your speakers, you would be surprised how much difference it would make.

We found the factory speakers work just fine. We only play music just enough to set the background ambiance of times remembered while we BS around the fire. I also like the factory speakers because they have no real bass to them. To me, the most annoying thing when camping is hearing someone's music in the background go boom, boom.

We use this, Scosche Boom Bottle H20. Its similar to the Bose speaker and fits in a cup holder. Its also waterproof for those who boat/jetski. The close up sound quality is excellent without angering the neighbors

I finally got a couple of those BLUE TOOTH speakers from WALMART... I was really impressed on the quality...

These have rechargable batteries and can go anyway and work up to around 100-feet away from the source equipment...

We got a nice little BT speaker for Christmas, but haven't used it camping yet. It's nice on my desk at home though.

Luckily we have a seasonal site with a deck. So I cut the outside speaker wire and pulled it through the bottom of the camper. Then I mounted Yamaha outdoor speakers on the deck and it rocks the campground!

FYI we are at a private campground with the one rule "Do not make us make rules!". It was started by a bunch of Irish folk who would get kicked out of regular camp grounds for noise, fire ect. So here we play lots of music and have very big fires into the wee hours of the AM. Its not for everyone but everyone there loves it! We are like a big seasonal family!

We found that the stereo equalizer is set up poorly from the factory. Once adjusted, ours sounds pretty good. Not a $1500 Bose speaker system, but adequate. We also do not have it as loud or obnoxious.

I have the entire camping area to myself, so I have Bob Seger cranked as loud as my cheap stock Jensen system (and my ears) can handle on the interior speakers- about 30 volume wise on the knob. I've learned that beer makes the crap stereo sound better...

We typically listen to music in the morning as we have breakfast and get ready for the day or if we're confined indoors due to weather. The indoor speakers are fine for that.
We rarely use the outdoor speakers cuz other folks shouldn't have to hear our choice in tunes.
I use a Bose Bluetooth when I want good sound outdoors but keep it turned down and sitting on my camp chair table alongside my beverage of choice. My iPad has a few thousand tracks of music so it's always in use rather than trying for radio reception.
