We will have had ours three years in October. No plans to upgrade until the kids are grown, then go possibly with a rear living room floorplan.

That's what we did.

Our youngest heads to college tomorrow, I have a new rear living room 5th wheel on order.

Life is good.....

Our first camper was a Toyota Winnebago Class C. We kept it about 5 years and sold it to buy our current Jay Feather 25Z. We changed vehicles because our camping style changed when we retired. We plan to stay longer in one place when we camp. We have more room in the trailer yet it is still small enough to tow with our F-150. We will keep it until our needs change again, and there is no plan to keep it for XX period of time.

There will always be some maintenance whether brand new or twenty years old (like our Toy house). From what I can see, resale value for new RV's drops faster than rock so I cannot see buying a new one when there are plenty of used vehicles in good condition. After 3-4 years most problems will have surfaced and be fairly evident if you learn what to look for.

First used PU 3 years until I found one with a shower that I could tow.
Second PU 11 years.
First HTT so far 2 and 1/2 years and no plan to get rid of it.

Tented for many years, then a Fleetwood popup for 3 years, TrailCruiser hybrid for 3 years, Jayco TT for 4 years but didn't need the BH anymore as the kids just got too old to camp with mom & dad anymore. Now we are enjoying our 2013 37' Palomino Sabre 5th wheel which we plan on keeping a long time. DD and her friends still use our 3 room tent.

We have a Jay Series 1406 pup now 4 years. Good size for the 5 of us, and I'm looking to get the Cardinal Designer Series 1406 just for the upgrade. Plans are to keep that one a long time.

Our first pop-top Coleman about 15 yrs, the first Jayco ('05) 7 years. A 20' tt, 1 season, a Layton 28 BH, seasonal 3 yrs.

The current Jayflight had better last a long time.

I have no plans on getting rid of my '98 Eagle anytime soon! It may be getting up there in age, but it looks brand new since its been stored indoors since brand new.

Our first trailer was a 19 foot bunk model made by Fleetwood. Our oldest child was six then. We traded that trailer in for our Jayco a year and a half ago. So we had the first one 14 years. Kept it about 5 years longer than we should have but the one we have now has the rear living room and set up for my wife and I as the kids are in university .

We bought a Jayco Eagle 215SD in the spring of 1993 and sold it in the fall of 2011. So, I would say we get rid of ours every 18 years or so. However, the new FW will have to last until 2030 for that to happen this time and by that time I'll be 85 and probably won't be pulling it anyway.

17' Casita for 4 years - then the grandkids got old enough to camp, but too young to throw out in a tent. So now the Starcraft in my sig. Both used and bought in good shape....no major issues. Plan on keeping this setup until life changes again

Had our Coleman Sun Valley for 4 years. Bought a new Coleman Sequoia in 93. Then in 98 we bought a leftover 97 Jayco 230SL, sold it last year when we bought a 2010 24FBS it was 18mo old, used 3 times. Somebody traded it on a new fifth wheel. We are still partial to Coleman popups, but Jayco makes the best hardsides.

3 trailers in 3 years

We came back to RVing after a 7 year layoff
Our prior RV was a Safari Motorhome which we loved but our new home had no storage.
I thought a small tt would be OK so I bought a Jayco 20BH and after a couple of trips (not big enough for 2)

So I next got a Salem T24fbl' and a slide (liked the floor plan but cabinets and MW too high for a 5' 1" wife)

So I went back to JAYCO and a 25rks and after close inspection this time will keep this one.

All 3 trailers pulled fine with my 2005 Silverado

We bought a used 1987 pop up in 1995 and bought a used 1997 Terry in 2001, sold the pop up in 2005 and kept the Terry at Myrtle Beach until last year. The weather at the beach killed it though and we traded it in last April for our 32bhds. Not gonna store this one near the beach again and hope it last till we win the lottery.

We sell ours(no trades), outright about every two years.

In 2004 we bought a new 2003 THOR Aerolite 26RKS tongue pull. Kept it 2 yrs. Sold it in 2006. Bought a new 2006 Rockwood 8315 tongue pull. Sold it in 2008. Bought a used(2006) Rockwood 8283 5th Wheel in 2009. Sold it last Wednesday(11/21/12). Bought a used(2005) Jayco Talon ZX24-E Toy Hauler last Friday(11/23/12). Hope to keep this one longer.

Bought a used Jayco Eagle8 and kept it 10 years, sold it and bought the 28bhs. Hopefully this one last just as long, if not longer.

First camper was a 1988 Coleman Laramie acquired in 1998 and handed off to a family member in 2009. Next came a 1993 Viking SP235 pop up acquired as a project in 2009 and that was traded in late 2010 for the HTT we have now. We have out grown that and are now currently starting the upgrade search for a TT.
