We never use it for drinking, only for washing, bathing and toilet. We cook with and drink bottled water.

Thanks for all the replies! I figured it was ok, but wanted to check with the masses.

i don't keep fish in my fresh water tank. seems to me that bottled water stays fresh for along time in a plastic container, i would think the fresh water would last a long time. happy camping!

How long can you leave water in your fresh water tank before the quality starts to decline?

I see where a lot of people leave "some" water in their fresh tanks for emergencies and for use when traveling.
We spend extended periods in full service CGs, but we always keep the fresh water tank quite full- You never know when a water line will rupture in the CG and you'll be glad you have water on board- I drain and refill unused tank water but not as frequently as I should- However, the water has always tasted ok when we have had to use it- I drink it but the DW doesn't like to- Follow your own instincts- JMHO-DD
