Ours charges $100. We just bought it and have spent one break-in weekend in it. We have some minor work that needs to be done so they will take care of it while we are there.

Yep. We live in Colorado so temps in winter are wildly unpredictable. We have lots of weekends in winter where we can take her out, we just don't know when they are with much warning.

I just had my 27BHS done yesterday. Dealer charged 30.00 total. I would not do it myself for that price.

My motherinlaw used to say SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Never had anyone else winterize my rigs. I've learned not to trust the dealer techs and I won't pay the shop that I do trust to do a 10 min job.

Just make sure you run antifreeze to EVERY faucet. Almost forgot the washing machine lines this year. My new rig is prepped for a washer but we don't have one so I never even thought about it....until after I was done. Had to go back in and feed another half gallon into the lines. 2 1/2 gal takes care of everything including the p-traps.

Showed a buddy how to do his new 5er last week too. Took us less than 10 min once he found his pump and Heater bypass.

I do mine myself but you have to make sure you get everything. on mine I have a hand pump I use to shoot antifreeze thru the outside black water flush and city water inlet to push past the check valves... I also put antifreeze down through fresh water tank inlet when I have it disconnected from pump to insure I get it in the line that runs between the 2 fresh water tanks and if you have a washer dryer prep you need to make sure you get it through those outlets also . I used about 3 1/2 gallons, some wasted from lines outside and it took me about 45 minutes

Warranty requirements

My warranty states that it must be winterized by an authorized dealer. Do they have a leg to stand on?

Welcome to the forum.

Jayco won't pay for damages due to freezing.

If an authorized dealer does the winterizing and you have freeze damage, they'd be the ones to pay for the damage.
If you do the winterizing and you have freeze damage, then you'd pay for the damage.

That's the leg they are standing on, IMO.

My seasonal campground winterizes ours for $75... it includes winterizing my residential fridge ice-maker which is a pain.
Well worth it for me..

If your dealer is charging under $100. I would worry if they will be in business for the long hall. No one can stay in business charging just $30-$40. Most RV dealers pay the shop double to triple min wage depending where they are located . If they aren't they are an open door of employees with the low unemployment all over the US. Simple formula to stay in business for a labor rate and cost of goods. Wage X 3 + materials at cost X 2.3 =total to charge
