Since you already bought it, just keep it. You'll be fine. I tow a X23B (GVW 5000lbs) with a 1400/14000 setup and have had no issues. I didn't intend to buy the largest size they had, but didn't realize it until after the dealer did the installation....

x2 You may not know you need it until it's too late. You can get sway at any highway speeds, whether you are towing 5 days or a half hour to get to your destination. That's like saying you don't need seat belts if you just take short trips. It's up to you, but I'd get something with good sway control built in.

Looks like I'm late, but I really like my Anderson hitch. One hitch for all trailer weights, sway control built in, and I can back with it still hooked up.
I also suggest the sway control, semi's can really move a trailer when they go by.

Checking out the Andersen. Seems to have a cult following! There are several good brands, just need to decide on one.
