How to combine RVing with timeshare points?

Hello to the forum! I'm a new jayco owner, but this our third trailer.

The DW and I purchased a timeshare "vacation" the kind with "points."

I hate timesharing, and the whole concept is lost on me... But, a happy wife is a happy life.

So, has anyone figured out how to combine RVing with a TT and a timeshare?

The two seemingly uncompatible styles of vacationing have to have some way of combining my family's love of each style vacationing.

We are the weekend warrior type of RVers, pulling the 32footer over the road. The timeshare is normally our week vacation.

Thanks in advance.

spend all summer using the camper and use the timeshare in the winter at a nice sunny destination to get away from the cold for a week when the campers winterized

Sometimes your systems allow you to exchange your points for certain resorts that are camping facilities. For example if you are DVC member You can move your points to the Disney collection and then use them at Fort Wilderness. I have never checked out an RCI exchange but maybe that's an option worth investigating

+1. Also if you are a fortunate soul and have 2 weeks in a row you could store your camper near your TS detination and go for another week camping following your TS stay. Another option is to rent your TS week if it is in a desirable area for a peak period and cover you MF for the year.

I use mine for ski trips or DW every few years.

We have a time share just outside Dollywood in Pigeon Forge and would not think of giving it up. That is just one week out of 52 so plenty of time left for camping.

I hate my time share which is a really nice place in Myrtle Beach. We camp just 2 miles from there in the state park.

Time share worst "investment" I (we) ever made. DW can take grand kids there. Since its paid for the kids can have it.
